The Challenge
St. Bernard Academy (SBA) is a historic independent Catholic school in Nashville known for its rigorous academics, small class sizes, and nurturing community. With new leadership and an ambitious vision to grow enrollment, SBA was ready to strengthen its presence in the Nashville community and unify its communications.
While word-of-mouth reputation was strong, their materials were outdated and they needed cohesive branding that could be used practically across teams to further elevate the school’s reputation. Their marketing team wanted a cohesive, flexible brand system that reflected SBA’s academic excellence, community spirit, and Mercy-based values, while being practical for staff to use day-to-day.

"Throughout the process, Allison understood our brand and our needs."
“It was a pleasure to work with South Square Creative to enhance our branding and designed materials! Throughout the process, Allison understood our brand and our needs. She worked with us in a polished, professional, and responsive fashion. We are so excited about the outcomes and look forward to working on additional projects!”

Outcome
Through a strategic Brand Plan and full-scale visual identity refresh, South Square Creative helped SBA elevate its image from hidden gem to top-choice school.
The comprehensive rebrand included an expanded logo suite for every need (schoolwide, spirit/mascot, Mass, and Home & School Association), a master brand guide, and a robust Canva brand kit with ready-to-use, completely custom branded templates for faculty and staff. We also introduced polished collateral including yard signs, stationery, slide decks, e-signatures, and social profile graphics, ensuring the brand shows up consistently everywhere SBA connects with current and prospective families.
The results were immediate: the team debuted their new look at a New Parent Dinner using the refreshed slide deck and booklet templates, receiving compliments from teachers and parents alike. The rebrand not only unified SBA’s communications but also boosted staff confidence and community pride in representing their school.
